The Fountain Lakes area is useful because it gives anglers multiple nearby waters, but the lakes are different sizes. MDC lists Kluesner at 30 acres, Moore at 14 acres and Skate Park Lake at 12 acres. All three prohibit boats under their cooperative-area rules.
Moore Lake — 14 acres
Moore is less than half Kluesner’s size but lists the same core fishing groups. It can be a better choice when you want less water to cover from the bank.
Skate Park Lake — 12 acres
Skate Park Lake is the smallest of the three highlighted lakes and gives another bank-fishing option in the same general complex.
No boats on these three
MDC prohibits boats on Kluesner, Moore and Skate Park Lake. The official Fountain Lakes map also shows trails and parking, so this is best planned as a mobile shoreline trip.
Use lake size to choose where to start
- Choose Kluesner when you want the most water and are willing to move between shoreline areas. A search bait for bass or a mobile panfish approach makes sense on a first pass.
- Choose Moore when you want a middle-ground option: enough shoreline to move, but not as much water to eliminate as Kluesner.
- Choose Skate Park Lake for the most compact session. If one water is crowded or unproductive, the value of the complex is being able to switch lakes instead of forcing the same bank all day.
